Music of the Spheres
These
enchanting chimes blend old world craftmanship with the latest in
technology. Harmonizing art and science to uplift the spirit and
delight the senses.
Eight standard musical scales range from familiar pentatonic to
mystical whole tone. You will enjoy choosing the one that sings most
sweetly to you. Attention to detial puts Music of the Spheres in a league of it's own, whether you're talking about musical quality, the visual aesthetic, or outdoor durability.
Musicians
are impressed with our use of authentic musical scales from around the
world. The less knowledgeable just know they sound great. One customer
wrote: "They are wonderfull!! My neighbors like them equally as well!".
The matte black, powder-coated, aluminum-alloy tubing will never rust
and always looks elegant. Seven and fifteen year cunsumer warranties
result from superior design and material selection.
Visually, our matte black/silver color combo distinguishes us in the
marketplace. The design is modern, functional, and sleekly simple.
The versatility that distinguishes a Music of the Spheres
chime is unmistakable. Our unique detachable windcatcher offers
activity control, and the moveable clapper provides on/off capability
for all models except the Westminster.
Music of the Spheres
chimes are designed by Larry Roark, who holds a degree in music theory
from the University of North Texas. He began performing professionally
in the mid 1970's, and founded Music of the Spheres in 1989. Because he aspires to make the chimes by which all others are measured, product improvement in an ongoing endeavor.
Sizes
All tunings, except the Westminster, come in four sizes, which is the same as saying pitch ranges.
* Sopranos use 7/8" diameter tubing and are approximately 30" in overall length.
* Altos use 1 1/2" diameter tubing and are appoximately 50" in overall length.
* Tenors use 2" diameter tubing and are appoximately 60" in overall length.
* Basses use 2 1/2" diameter tubing and are appoximately 90" in overall length.
* The Westminster uses 1 1/2" diameter tubing and are appoximately 90" in overall length.
Tunings
All
chimes are precision tuned to A 440, the standard orchestral pitch,
using the latest technology. They are available in the musical scales
shown below, which are written in the ocgtave of the alto size.
Sopranos are one octave higher, tenors, one half octave lower, and
basses one octave lower.
